TV Saved by the bell

For many people who grew up during the 80s and 90s, 'Saved by the Bell' was a television program that defined an era. From waking up early to watch episodes before school to racing home to catch re-runs, the depiction of this rag-tag group of teens had a massive impact on the youth of the time.

The online production company Funny or Die has released a new series entitled 'Zack Morris is Trash' that analyzes the main character of 'Saved by the Bell.' From the episode where Zack Morris drove drunk and crashed his car, to the one where he got Jessie hooked on caffeine pills and even the one where he sold swimsuit photos of underage classmates, audiences quickly realize how problematic this character was. By taking on the "bad boy" persona, Zack Morris was praised for his inappropriate behavior by his peers, while administrative figures appeared to always look the other way. Though it was labeled as a teen show, was 'Saved by the Bell' really appropriate?

'Zack Morris is Trash' is written and narrated by Dashiell Driscoll and is currently on its second season of production. You can watch all of the episodes here.
