The show recently received over 2,500 complaints, after contestant Dani Dyer was shown a misleading video of her boyfriend. Believe it or not, British viewers love to complain about TV. In 2001, comedians Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas joined forces for a comedy musical filled with controversy. Specifically, the musical provided cynical commentary on Christian themes.

This regional news programme was the subject of a scandal unlike any other. The Sex Pistols appeared on the show, setting off a swearing battle at around 6PM.

Julian Clary caused quite a stir at the British Comedy Awards in 1993. At one point, Clary said he had engaged in a sexual act with Norman Lamont, then-Chancellor of the Exchequer.

No one puts on a show quite like Derren Brown. However, some thought the illusionist took things too far in 2004.

This one-off horror special shocked the nation back in 1992. The 90-minute mockumentary was made to appear like live television. BBC reporters like Michael Parkinson (pictured) and Sarah Greene journeyed into a haunted house in Greater London.
